Frequently asked questions · CONIKA visualization
What people usually ask before commissioning images of a project that does not exist yet. If something is missing, write to us and we will add it.
01 · The service
What exactly do you do in this line?
We take an already designed project and turn it into something you can look at and walk through: images of the finished project, video walkthroughs, 360 tours and the interactive walkthrough. If no three-dimensional model exists, we build it: everything else comes from there.
Do I need to have the design done?
It does not have to be ours, but it does have to exist. We work on your project or on your architect's, with whatever drawings you have. If what you want is to design from scratch, that is another of our lines and you are better off entering through there.
Do you change the design?
No. This line represents the design, it does not intervene in it. If something the drawings do not resolve comes up while modelling, we tell you and you decide it with your architect. Resolving a gap so the image can exist is not designing, and the contract says so.
What is the interactive walkthrough?
Your project's model inside a link: you turn it with your finger and a slider lowers a cutting plane that opens it from the inside. It runs in the browser, with nothing to install and no account. You can see it working today in the studio's brochure.
Do you do graphic design, catalogues or campaign material?
No. Commercial graphic design is outside this line, and the contract says so. We deliver the images and the material in formats ready to present or publish, and your communications team puts the piece together.
02 · The files and the model
What do you need from me to start?
The base architectural drawings, the three-dimensional model if one exists, visual references for the project, the approximate materials, and which angles or spaces matter most to you. Any mandatory logos or delivery formats too. All of it is collected in one meeting, at the start.
What formats should I send the drawings in?
Drawings in DWG or PDF. If you already have a model, in IFC, SKP, RVT or 3DM. If yours is in another format, send it anyway and we will tell you in the conversation whether we can open it: almost always we can.
What if my drawings are incomplete?
We model what the drawings make it possible to determine, and whatever is not defined is resolved as a matter of representation and reported to you. That is why the scope of the modelling is proportional to the documentation you deliver, and it is put in writing before we start.
Do you hand over the three-dimensional model?
What is delivered are the images and the pieces agreed, organised in a digital folder and ready to present or publish, in horizontal and vertical formats. If you also need the model file, say so when you book and it goes into the proposal.
03 · The price and payment
How much do the images cost?
From USD 125 per image, with a minimum of 6, so from USD 750. It comes down with quantity: the more images, the less each one costs. It is charged per image and not per square metre, because the number of images does not grow with the area of the project.
Is the modelling charged separately?
Yes, and once only: USD 250 if your project exists only as drawings and has to be modelled. If the model already exists, we work on yours and it is not charged. From that model come the images, the video and the walkthrough, with nothing modelled twice.
How much do the video, the tour and the interactive walkthrough cost?
They are quoted per project, because they depend on scope and length. In the forty five minute conversation we define what you need and the figure for yours comes out, in writing, before you commit to anything.
How is it paid?
In two parts: half to start and half against final delivery. The first payment opens the work, and from there you follow everything from your portal, with the signed documents and the account up to date, without having to ask anyone for a status.
Does the price change if I am a company?
No. The price is exactly the same for a person and for a company, and also for a project inside or outside Colombia. The only thing that changes is the invoice, depending on whose name it is issued in.
04 · Rights and limits
Who owns the images?
You do, to sell, present and publish your project. We keep the right to show them as the studio's work, and if your project cannot be published yet, that is agreed before we start and we respect it.
The design is another architect's. Can I send it?
Yes. We only ask that you have the author's permission for us to represent it. The design credit stays in their name in anything we publish: we sign the image, not the project.
Are the images good for a permit or a filing?
No. They are illustrative and atmospheric: they are not technical documentation and they are not suitable for filings with authorities or for building from. Drawings submitted for a permit are signed by a licensed professional, and that is outside this line.
Do the deliverables carry a professional signature?
No, and they do not need one. This service does not practise architecture: it represents a project that already exists. That is why it commits no professional licence and works the same inside and outside Colombia, with no difference in process.
When do I see the material before delivery?
Before the final images there is a moment of its own, The Review, where you see what has been set up and give your approval. Your project's schedule, with every date, reaches you in writing in your Dossier before you sign.
